Natural Menopause Management
Menopause is a natural transition to post-reproductive life. We offer natural, drug-free relief from many common menopausal symptoms such as hot flashes, night sweats, mood swings, fatigue, anxiety, insomnia, and others. You can be assured that our treatments are safe, effective, and based on specialized training and experience.
Natural, drug-free menopause support
Our natural menopause support program is offered as a complement to conventional medical care for common issues during this transitional time. Using the drug-free, natural treatments of Acupuncture and targeted nutritional support, most of our menopausal patients report significant relief from hot flashes, night sweats, mood swings, and other common menopausal symptoms and, under the guidance of their physician, are able to reduce or eliminate prescription drugs and hormones in many cases.

Menopause is a natural transition from the reproductive into the wisdom phase of life. As your body makes this transition, the ovaries produce less estrogen and progesterone. This can cause unpleasant, and sometimes severe, symptoms as your body is making the adjustment.

Menopause Basics
The amount of estrogen and progesterone may decline as menopause begins, but your ability to make estrogen and progesterone does not. The body very intelligently shifts this responsibility away from the ovaries and begins making its estrogen and progesterone in other tissues, such as fat and muscle.

During this transition, the adrenal glands, which also serve as our body's primary stress gland, must make more of the "precursor" hormones that your body will convert into estrogen and progesterone. The increased stress of urban lifestyles and fast-paced living, along with the high demands of corporate work are a constant drain on the adrenal glands throughout life. Therefore, it is no mystery why menopausal symptoms can become so severe. If the adrenal glands are unable to keep up with the increased hormonal demand because of stress overload, there is a rapid decrease in estrogen and progesterone, instead of a gradual one.

It is important to remember that there is most likely nothing is wrong with you if you are having severe menopausal symptoms. Your body is very intelligent in its management of resources and prioritization of duties. If you have lived a fast-paced, high-stress lifestyle for many years, your body has served you well in doing its best to keep you going. In order to do this, it uses the adrenal glands to keep you alert, awake, and ready to fight off threats. This function will always take priority over anything else, as it is a core survival function.

It is no wonder, then, that estrogen and progesterone take a back seat under these conditions.

How We Treat You
Before we begin any treatment regimen, we carefully review your medical history, current symptoms, and lifestyle. This will give us a clear picture of what is causing YOUR issues.

We then devise a comprehensive, customized plan to bolster your body and correct any deficiencies. Using nutrition, herbs, and acupuncture, we begin to unwind the body's overactive stress response.

  • We supply your body with therapeutic nutrition, so your cells are able to function at a higher level and can "catch up" on unfinished processes.
  • We do a series of relaxing, rejuvenating acupuncture sessions that unwind the stress in your body, so your cells can focus more on healing and less on fighting.
  • We prescribe customized herbal medicines that fast-track your body into balance, helping relieve hot flashes, night sweats, and promoting better sleep.
The result is that you feel better, have more energy, and make the menopausal transition naturally without the unnecessary risk of hormones.
